Our MISSION is to provide access and assistance to older adults and individuals with disabilities in Dallas County.

Providing resources, information and education for family caregivers in Tarrant County. The Area Agency on Aging of Tarrant County United Way and the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Tarrant County work with over three dozen agencies to connect families with the help that they need.

Citizens Development Center was founded in 1951 by parents of mentally challenged children, and was originally called Children's Development Center. When the public school system became responsible for educating special needs children, parents foresaw the mission of CDC shifting accordingly. As these children graduated from public schools, they continued to need specialized services such as job training and placement. The mission of the agency shifted its focus to the vocational training of adults and became known as Citizens Development Center.

Community Options believes in the dignity of every person, and in the freedom of all people to experience the highest degree of self-determination. Embracing this philosophy, Community Options provides housing, support services and advocacy assistance to help empower people with disabilities.

Welcome to the Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind. We’ve been providing opportunities and assistance to visually impaired individuals for more than 80 years. We enhance the lives and opportunities of our clients through job training, employment, and a multitude of community services. The visually impaired clients we work with lead successful lives in their workplace, at home, and in their community.
