Required Skills

The Electrician Layout Detailer will review contract drawings and documents, field phone calls from other involved contractors, engineers, etc., and exchange information with the Project Manager and Superintendent. The Electrical Detailer will then develop the layout drawings of conduit and equipment based on this ongoing review.

The Electrician Layout Detailer will also attend job-site coordination meetings to discuss the project with other contractors. As a result of these meetings, adjustments to the electrical layout drawings will be made as needed.

Required Experience

Requirements:

  • 6 years commercial electrical field work with at least 1 year of inbed concrete conduit;
  • 2 years field work assembling switchgear and working with 3' or larger conduit;
  • Coordinator and MEP experience, a plus;
  • Basic computer skills, drafting skills with pencil and straightedge;
  • Basic office knowledge of blueprint discipline;
  • Mandatory enrollment in 2D AutoCad/Microstation training at trade school or college if not already proficient;
  • Proven ability to read and understand the NEC.
  • Proficient in basic 2D AutoCad/Microstation techniques and skills;
  • Ability to produce 2D electrical coordination drawings to proper scale and area breakdown with column lines;
  • Ability to update and keep current master sets of contract blueprints with RFI revisions, change orders, etc and accept responsibility for the results;
  • Ability to produce readable, current logs of all produced work;
  • Ability to identify construction problems and seek resolution through the RFI or toher process before construction of the areas start;

    Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field;
  • Strong electrical construction background;
  • Ability to read blueprints from all trades;
  • Experience in electrical layout;
  • Drafting abilities;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Computer efficient.
