Position Description
Conceives and develops solutions to engineering programs through the application of professionally accepted engineering techniques, practices and procedures.
Provides technical support to customers. Identifies customer issues, conducts analysis of issues to determine root cause, drives corrective action process and obtains corrective action via engineering or factory personnel. Typical duties: Communicates results of analysis to field, sales, engineering and factory locations. Resolves issues to assure customer satisfaction.
Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.
Qualifications
Requires a BS or comparable relevant technical experience.
Requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with 5 years of direct customer contact experience. Must have a basic understanding of Disk Drive technology and experience in the Hard Disc Drive industry.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point.
Individual must be a self starter and will be required to participate in evening calls with Seagate Asian factories, design centers and customer manufacturing sites.
