We are currently seeking a talented Associate P&C Underwriter for our San Antonio, TX facility.

As a Associate P&C Underwriter for USAA, you will provide underwriting decisions for all P&C lines of business within established guidelines and authority limits. You will provide technical underwriting support to P&C Sales, Service, and Claims personnel and responds to member inquiries regarding underwriting decisions. This is the entry level in the P&C Underwriter career path.

Job Duties:

• Under direct supervision, determines acceptability and rate integrity for P&C policies in all lines of business within established authority limits.
  
• Provides P&C Sales, Service, and Claims personnel with business education, training and technical support with respect to underwriting, pricing and product issues.
  
• Develops proficiency in and displays technical knowledge of coverages, programs, guidelines and rating plans.
  
• Teams with P&C Sales, Service and Claims personnel to integrate underwriting requirements into the service delivery model.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
  
• 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  
• Proficient in MS Office and all applicable systems.

Preferred:

• Experience working with international contract labor.
  
• Working knowledge of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies and capabilities.
  
• Able to lead and manage international labor.
  
• Minimum 18 months of recent experience in USAA Policy Service, Claims, Underwriting, Staff or New Member Solutions experience, or equivalent educational background.
  
• Working knowledge of Auto, Renter, and PAF contract.
