We are currently seeking a talented
Sr. Software Developer & Integrator for our
San Antonio, TX facility.
As a
Sr. Software Developer & Integrator for USAA, you will provide functional and/or technical guidance in evaluating application systems or evaluating requests for proposals and products. You will coordinate changes and prioritize tasks with business or technical departments. You will synthesize analyses, identify root causes, and develop and recommend key work products. Provides guidance in evaluating technical proposals and serve as the subject matter expert on development techniques to junior team members. Assembles key participants and guides and facilitates teams in the development and implementation of key initiatives. Provides insight to management on issues. Serves as a resource to team members on escalated issues of an unusual nature.
JOB DUTIES:
- Performs design and analysis, coding and unit testing of complex system functionality and/or defect correction across multiple platforms.
- Facilitates root cause analysis of system issues to minimize impact and future occurrences.
- Gathers, analyze and influences user and system requirements. Identify and create solutions to improve system performance and availability.
- Creates system documentation/play book and serves as a lead technical reviewer and contributor in code reviews.
- Coordinate system application transition from development teams to maintenance and production team and/or construct and implement necessary controls to assure system / application traceability.
- Develops accurate estimates on work packages and distributes work packages on behalf of the manager. Analyze and design specifications for junior team members to execute.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 6+ years of relevant business support and/or general analysis experience.
- Advanced knowledge of data analysis tools.
- Advanced knowledge of industry data sources.
Preferred:
- 3+ years of experience in DW/ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) project analysis, design and implementation.
- 2+ years of experience with IBM Data Stage ETL tool.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL.
- Experience in leadership role on large DW implementations.
- Experience designing/developing large, complex Data Integration / ETL processes. This includes error/suspension handling, control processing, data cleansing, etc.
- Experience implementing IBM UDB with Data Partition Facility (DPF).
- Knowledge about dimensional data modeling concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and coordination skills with both business and IT communities.
- Experience with Informatica PowerCenter ETL tools.
- Experience with the following Reporting / BI tools; MS Analysis Services, Business Objects Crystal Reports, Universe, Xcelsius, WebI.
- Experience facilitating JAD sessions with business.
- Knowledge about IBM Information Framework (IFW) processes/models.
- Knowledge about Data Mining concepts.
- Knowledge about Financial Services industry (Bank, Investments, and/or Insurance).
- Knowledge about Oracle, DB2, and/or SQL Server database technologies.
