Position Description:
Clinical Communications Associate Director of Communications for UnitedHealth Group will coordinate and maintain physicians' communications and will ensure that communications are necessary, accurate, and not in conflict with other UHG businesses. When possible, will ensure that communications are combined across businesses to reduce redundancy to physicians.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Improve company wide communications performance by continuing to upgrade and enhance communications structure, processes and coordination
  • Ensure the right people are doing the right work using efficient processes, effective decision making and clear roles and responsibilities
  • Create and implement external and internal clinical communications strategy on signature programs that maximize and effectively publicize the company's commitment to make accessible, affordable, high-quality health care available to everyone
  • Develop plans and create opportunities to communicate with and build relationships with providers and other health care staff

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years experience writing and editing direct communications
  • 5+ years of experience writing and editing direct communications to physicians and hospitals
  • Subject matter expert and 5+ years of experience writing communications on any or all of the following: contracting, credentialing, pharmacy benefit, disease management, fee schedules, pay for performance, and medical policy
  • Experience implementing physician- and other healthcare provider-focused communications campaigns is a must
  • Proven organizations skills
  • Ability to manage multiple communications request simultaneously
  • Ability to offer constructive feedback on poor communications
  • Understanding and respect of the physician relationship
  • Ability to offer constructive feedback to improve communications
  • Work collaboratively across business segments
  • Project management skills
  • Undergraduate degree in English, Journalism, or Mass Communications preferred
