Position Description:
Access Support is an Advocacy Services function that assists consumers with finding physicians, matching their medical needs and personal preferences, scheduling physician appointments and supporting consumer's efforts to coordinate their medical records. Access Support Advocates target to find board certified physicians who have proven to meet and exceed national guidelines for quality of care as well as local level efficiency standards for cost.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Finding the physician using various search tools, making qualification calls to medical offices to ensure the physicians are accepting new patients, are contracted with the consumer's health plan, confirming physician contact information and obtaining an idea of new patient appointment availability.
- Once providers are identified, Access Support Advocates cross-reference state medical boards to ensure the physicians hold active licenses without any disciplinary actions or malpractice sanctions on file.
- Access Support Advocates contact consumers to share the results for the provider search and schedule appointments as needed.
