UnitedHealth Group has submitted a proposal in response to the TriCare Managed Care Support Contract Solicitation (also known as the "T-3 Solicitation"). TriCare is the health care program serving active duty service members, National Guard and Reserve members, retirees, their families, survivors and certain former spouses.
As a potential government contractor, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF85P.
Position Description:
The technical writer captures and communicates the functional best practices for the Claim organization. This includes writing and editing process documentation, desktop procedures, training program materials and on-line content. Technical writers may assist in estimating production costs and overseeing work done by external vendors.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reviews TRICARE requirements and related documents to understand and capture specific operational guidelines
- Analyzes and investigates, and provides explanations and interpretations to others within area of expertise
- Interviews subject matter experts (SMEs) to determine training and documentation approach
- Contributes ideas regarding training program design based on own ideas, experience, and research
- Uses pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise
- Investigates non-standard requests and problems, with some assistance from others
- Reviews other organizational training material to extract relevant content for use in training materials; works with Training Manager to determine relevant elements
- Follows training program development standards, stylistic guidelines and formatting conventions
- Inspects and edits own work for clarity and conformance to requirements
- Collects training program exhibits, attachments, appendices, screen shots and other content to incorporate into training materials
- Participates in individual and group reviews and incorporates changes and improvements to documentation
- Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet deadlines
- Supports ongoing process improvement and change control activities
- Completes work according to deadlines provided by Training Manager
- Assists as requested in general training program development activities, including editing, assembly and quality assurance
