Summary
Primary Job Function: Operate tractor trailer/bobtail/flatbed. Load, unload and transport glass. Essential Job Duties: * Drives tractor trailer applying knowledge of commercial driving regulationsto transport and deliver glass. * Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations. * Will be required to maintain Hours of Service log and submit such documentation on a daily basis according to Federal regulations. * Will be submitted to annual MVR checks and random drug testing. All commercial drivers are required to adhere to established MVR policy. * Obtains customer signature or collects payment for glass. * Load and unload truck by hand or fork lift as directed. Assist in loading and unloading of special or large quantities of materials or equipment. * Follows a predetermined schedule of pickup and delivery. * Performs and documents daily Pre/Post Trip inspections on vehicle according to Section 396.11 of the FMCSR. Daily inspections of load securing equipment such as load straps and strap anchor points. * Adheres to Company safety policy and rules at all times. * Ability to maintain receipts for reimbursement of all expenses incurred. * Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Requirements
Qualifications: * Class A drivers license with current medical card * Able to lift or move 75 pounds * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) * Experience 2 years of related experience or training * Good interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain respectful relationships with customers. * Ability to read and interpret written information such as safety rules, sales tickets, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
