We are currently seeking a talented Senior Contracts Advisor for our San Antonio, TX facility.


As a Senior Contracts Advisor for USAA, you will guide and facilitate teams in the development and implementation of key contract initiatives. You will independently perform complex work assignments and problem resolution. You will lead and manage all phases of the procurement process for highly complex contracts and strategic major acquisitions, including acquisition planning, statement of work development, technical and commercial evaluation, source selection, contract writing, and negotiations. Serves as a consultant to provide options to internal customers that deliver optimal solutions that align with customer business objectives while mitigating risks and protecting the enterprise.


Job Duties:


  • Applies advanced procurement knowledge of the business, its products, and processes. Provides insight to management on issues. Serves as a resource to team members on escalated issues of an unusual nature. Mentors and enhances procurement staff knowledge.
  • Understands and develops requests for proposals, contract and requirement documents to include pricing, financial, and risk analysis. Identifies opportunities and potential solutions. Synthesizes analyses, identifies root causes, and develops and recommends key work products.
  • Conducts all phases of highly complex contracts and strategic major acquisitions to include acquisition planning, statements of work development, technical and commercial evaluation, negotiations, source selection, and contracting writing.
  • Provides specialized contract solutions which mitigate risk and align with customer business objectives and strategies.
  • Utilizes strong leadership and collaborative skills in interacting with customers, suppliers, and team members. Manages highly complex interactions involving suppliers, customers, and the overall needs of the enterprise.
  • Responsible for project management by leading and influencing cross-functional procurement teams.


Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of procurement experience in highly complex contracts to include acquisition planning, developing statement of work, risk analysis, contract writing, and market research.
  • Strong analytical, relationship management, negotiation, project management and leadership skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis tools and industry data sources.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools and applicable business software.


Preferred:


  • Experience in a financial services and/or Fortune 500 company.
  • Experience working with real estate and/or benefits contracts.
