Laboratory Services Manager - LabOps South

This position requires broad expertise and flexibility in several areas of laboratory operations. This person will work closely with the General Manager to maintain, grow and improve the overall operating and financial performance of the division. The position will be based in Houston, Texas and will require limited travel in the gulf coast area.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the overall laboratory operations under the guidance of the General Manager
• Provide input relative to tactical and strategic planning activities
• Manage the LabOps staff to stimulate improvement and staff development, handle performance issues, customer issues etc.
• Administer human resources policies and procedures for all laboratory personnel
• Marketing and on-site evaluations of LabOps activities in order to grow the business
• Assist in recruiting- advertise, screen, interview and selection of all staff
• Preparation of LabOps proposals, presentations, monthly reporting, invoicing, etc
• Develop a training program for chemists,technicians, etc on instrumentation, QC, etc.

Requirements:

• BA/BS in Chemistry or related science
• Customer service experience
• Five years of industry experience (Chromatography GC or LC a plus)
• Excellent people, verbal and written communication, and computer skills
• Supervisory experience a plus
