Position Summary

Perform Optical network design. Implement Carrier Ethernet solutions. Able to communicate Optical design and Ethernet solution to Ciena sales team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Experience with Optical Transmission Networks
  • Experience with Carrier Ethernet packet Networks
  • Experience with Optical Network design and modeling tools
  • Prepare quotations and assist in proposal preparation for network design and solution
  • Provide sales team product and technical knowledge
  • Understanding of Siebel a plus
  • Travel as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills
  • Must be proficient with Carrier Ethernet
  • Must be proficient with SONET and OTN
  • Must be knowledgeable on Optical design tools
  • Proficient with Nortel Optical design tools a plus
  • Must be flexible; able to handle multiple tasks
Desired Characteristics
  • Motivated self starter with team spirit
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Good presentation skills
Education / Experience
  • BSEE and/or Industry experience
  • 2-5 years telecommunication industry experience
  • Prior experience as a contributor on a sales account team
