| Description | This position will ideally be located in HDR's office in Mahwah, NJ. Other HDR office locations in the Northeast will be considered for a strong candidate. The primary duties of the Area Business Development Manager for Water/Wastewater includes responsibility for strategic planning, new business development, client relationship programs or assignments to develop and manage new water and/or wastewater market segments or opportunities all within established company direction and goals. For the Water Business Group in the Northeast Area, will develop, lead and monitor strategic growth programs or targeted program strategies, goals and actions in cooperation with national, regional and local managers. Support local, area and regional marketing leaders in implementing and monitoring strategic programs, select opportunity targets, project services, staff development, quality and client relations all within established regional and local goals and objectives. Assists in special regional assignments and issue resolution. 1. Lead development of annual and long-term strategic office or market segment planning in coordination with regional efforts. 2. Collaborate with departments to implement key initiatives, key hires, investments and strategies for growth and increase profitability. 3. Monitor performance indicators, budgets and costs, risk management and implement needed actions and process improvements.4. Assess and develop new markets, trends, business opportunities and maintain and improve existing client relationships and services. 5. Collaborate with area and regional leaders to achieve business development, budget and fee goals. 6. Support development of strong client relationships and serve as a key client manager. 7. Provide staff training, development, and serve as a mentor for selected key staff. 8. Participate in business and community activities representing HDR to promote HDR services. 9. Serve as a company role model in business and community. |
| Requirements | Minimum of 15 years of leadership experience in the water/wastewater industry. Consulting experience strongly preferred. Existing network of clients beneficial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experienced in development and management of diverse teams. Works cooperatively with national, regional, department, technical and marketing managers and project staff. Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values. |
