Job Description
Mechanical Engineer Co-Op's allow students to work full-time with Southwire Company for three cycled semesters (Spring 22, Fall 22, Summer 23). This program allows students to obtain real-world experience, while networking with individuals within their field of study.
Task and Responsibilities
- Shadow Current Mechanical Engineers
- Interact in business meetings and become familiar with different meeting settings
- Complete Projects from design through commissioning
- Design systems within estimated budgets and track costs
- Operate with internal and external customers
- Mange schedules with contractors and plant managers
- Provide engineering Support
- CAD tutorials and exposure, [ Inventor - Mechanical AutoCAD]
- Research and Data comparison
- Evaluation of project proposals
Eligibility Requirements
- Ability to work 40-hour work weeks during rotation
- Willingness and ability to commit to a minimum of 3 rotations
- Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior pursuing a bachelor's degree
- Minimum GPA 3.0
