GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Assist in the development of additive manufacturing technologies for advanced metal alloys, and support the entire manufacturing process from raw material production to coupon fabrication, material analysis and mechanical testing. Work independently, follow detailed instructions, and suggest improvements to existing processes. Position will require frequent technical communication with team members and customers, including oral and written reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Prepare 3D printer and select print parameters, 3D print test coupons and samples, analyze printed samples including materials characterization, microscopy and mechanical testing.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Applicant should have completed at least 2 years of college.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Must be capable of working safely in a laboratory and performing extended analysis at computer workstations. Must be able to perform work while wearing a powered or unpowered air purifying respirator.

EDUCATION DESIRED: Currently pursuing a degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or related field.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. * 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
