Job Description

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) is actively recruiting a full time Rehabilitation Psychologist or Neuropsychologist at the faculty rank commensurate with his/her academic and professional experience. Faculty will have a primary appointment in the PM&R. The ideal candidate will have experience providing assessment and intervention services in both the inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings. Primary services rendered are neurobehavioral status exams, and neurocognitive assessments, neuropsychological assessment and psychotherapeutic rehabilitation services at the individual, family and group levels, all in a multidisciplinary academic medical setting. This position will provide patient care services at Zale Lipshy Pavilion of UTSW's Clements University Hospital and in our outpatient clinic.

Our growing a Division of Rehabilitation Psychology invites clinically and researched focused psychologists to apply. Whilst we serve inpatient and outpatients with TBI, stroke, SCI, and Epilepsy, we also serve patients with recent heart/lung transplants, and a variety of patients with other neurological and complicated medical issues. UTSW is part of the North Texas TBI Model System and is one of four national Burn Model Systems centers. At UTSW, we have a great deal of clinical and research opportunities in many areas (e.g., neurosurgery, transplant, post-intensive care syndrome, neuromuscular and burn). Our active training program includes two Rehabilitation Psychology Fellows and predoctoral intern rotations. Clinical supervision and training didactics are also part of the desired faculty's activities.

The position requires a doctorate in clinical psychology from an accredited university. Preferably, the candidate will have 3-5 years psychology practice experience. In addition, the selected candidate must have or be able to obtain a Texas License, must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Professional Psychology in Rehabilitation Psychology and/or Neuropsychology. Bilingual Spanish is a plus. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
