Job Summary
The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities aligned to the goals and objectives of the Originations division. The MLO is a customer focused, inside sales position within the Call Center. Will be responsible for both in-bound and out-bound calls throughout the loan origination cycle. Will conduct the initial pre-qualification and prepare the loan application and necessary documentation as set forth in the VA Vendee program.

Required Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of federal and state (e.g., The Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank 2010), mortgage safe harbors; Knowledge of mortgage lending guidelines (e.g., FHA, VA, Conventional, DAPS, etc.); Knowledge of regulatory investor guidelines; mathematics; customer and personal service; TRID. Developing knowledge of the mortgage industry, VA Vendee product, lending practices associated with SAFE HARBOR, QM rules, ATR, and State and Federal regulatory guidelines. Computer skills with the ability to learn loan origination system (Calyx-Path) and other 3-party systems. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written; Self-starter and possess time management skills

Job Context:
The majority of work will be performed indoors in an environmentally controlled setting. Some conferences will require travel and performing work outside of a controlled office setting. The work environment also includes: business casual; frequent contact with others via e-mail, telephone, face-to-face, letters and memos; daily decisions which have high impact on co-workers and company results; a high level of autonomy within highly structured process flows; and, may frequently include working beyond 40 hours per week.
