JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Division of Social Work, Psychology, and Philosophy invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Psychology tenure-track position beginning August 2024. The area of specialization is open. The Psychological Science program seeks colleagues who will be ready to teach upper-level undergraduate courses consistent with their area of expertise as well as other courses offered in the program such as introductory psychology, cognitive psychology, physiological psychology, social psychology, or developmental psychology. Courses taught will primarily be at the undergraduate level and will be selected based on departmental needs and applicant expertise. Mentoring undergraduate research students and supervising thesis students in the psychological science master's program is expected. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Prior university teaching experience is valued. An active and growing agenda of research and scholarship is required. Additionally, service to the university, community, and profession is expected.

SCHOOL INFORMATION

The School of Social Work, Psychology, and Philosophy at TWU is housed within the College of Arts and Sciences, which has 35% of TWU's graduate and undergraduate population of over 15,000. The Division of Psychology has over 500 undergraduate psychology majors, and five graduate programs: Master's in Counseling Psychology, Master's in Psychological Science, Specialist School Psychology, Doctoral Counseling Psychology, and Doctoral School Psychology.
