Construction Manager - Heavy Industrial Job Summary:

This role is responsible for the leadership and execution of the construction of a Mega/Regional Project. This individual's primary focus is leading the teams responsible for the field production and field execution with a strict governance and adherence to project specific /parameters. As the manager of field execution, this person's ability to plan, anticipate, communicate, react, and adapt at the highest level is essential to the project's success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Builds Teams: Proactively prepares and develops high-performing teams through motivation, and communication of skills, competencies, and expectations to achieve optimal results.
  • Intimately knowledgeable of the contract requirements and project scope to deliver expected results and mitigate risk exposure.
  • Develops, adapts, and implements project specific processes as required to address project specific needs.
  • Executes with Excellence: Owns, in collaboration with the other key project leadership, the daily planning and execution of the company's contractual requirements of the project as it relates to cost, schedule, quality, safety, environmental and other related matters .
  • Coordinates Resources: Defines the project needs and deploys field resources appropriately in coordination with applicable schedule demands and budget tolerances.
  • Leads Their Teams: Influences and achieves the desired outcomes through implementation of defined processes, utilization of LMS (Lead, Manage, Supervise) principles, holding the bar for operational excellence, and driving accountability for peak productivity throughout the life-cycle of the project.
  • Knows Their Operational Counterparts: Fosters the relationships with the General Contractors, client/customer, Engineer and/or Architect of Record, subcontractor, and vendor relations.
  • Project Leadership: Routinely interacts with our key project leadership, including the Project Executive, Senior Project Manager, Engineering Manager, and Logistics Lead on all matters relevant to the project to ensure project success.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of construction project management and field operations experience
  • Project Specific Experience:
    • Complex, large-scale $300M+ projects
    • Industrial/manufacturing projects
  • Concrete experience is preferred
  • Experience leading 10+ person team
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar required
