Job Description

Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of QA Technician for the Converting plant in Grand Prairie, TX. The schedule is a 2nd Shift position from 3pm-11pm, Mon-Fri.

Additional $2.50 premium for NIGHT Shift only between the hours of 7pm-7am. Any hours worked outside of 7pm-7am will not receive the premium.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Handling Information /Following Instructions

  • Checking written/printed information

  • Ability to use a tape measure repeatedly

  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple priorities

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with others

  • Accurately document and record information in PRISM

  • Accurately follow prescribed test methods and work instructions

  • Provide information to and communicate to the production departments in a timely manner

Key Duties include and are not limited to:

  • Checking quality on every master roll and alerting production crews/Leaders, in a timely manner, if an issue is found

  • Checking, as required per specification, Gas Chromatograph, WVTR, OTR, bonds (interlaminate, heat seal, cold seal), CoF, opacity, basis/total weights, cold seal weights, adhesive weights, ink weights, layer distributions

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

  • Previous quality experience preferred

  • Able to work any shift

  • Must be able to pass Ishihara color test

  • Must be able to lift up to 42 pounds

  • Must be able to demonstrate how toproperly measure and read a US and metric tape measure during interview.
