Fuller's Hygiene, Health, and Consumables Adhesives segment provides high quality adhesive solutions used in such markets as disposable hygienic products, rigid and flexible packaging, tapes and labels, paper products, and much more. The H.B. Fuller plant in Mesquite, TX manufactures various Hot Melt adhesive products sold to other businesses for use in their respective industries. The Facility Engineer reports to the Facility Manager and has primary responsibility for providing Engineering, Maintenance, and Production support at the assigned facility.

Position Overview

  • Prepare preliminary cost estimates, project proposals and capital expenditure requests.

  • Provide input to Facility Manager, on decisions regarding new equipment or systems, system upgrades and repairs.

  • Optimize existing processes to provide consistently uniform, high-quality products at the lowest cost.

  • Manage assigned projects, completing on time and within budget.

  • Direct support personnel and contractors as needed to complete projects.

  • Communicate effectively by written reports and informal contacts to ensure all appropriate personnel are aware of project status.

  • Manage project and repair costs and POs and assign to the proper SAP accounts.

  • Best Practices, Food Safety and Preventive maintenance practices in the plant system.

  • Oversee training of process and plant personnel for new equipment.

  • Manage plant infrastructure to minimize repairs and downtime.

  • Fully support and lead facility safety program and actively contribute to continuous improvement of facility safety performance.

  • Ensure the compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, including but not limited to PSM, OSHA, RCRA, TSCA, DOT and assist the H.B. Fuller EHS representative.

  • Manage plant systems to maximize employee safety and minimize environmental risk. Ensure the compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and assist the H.B. Fuller EHSrepresentative.

  • Manage within maintenance budget.

  • Assure departmental compliance with all ISO 9001:2000 and Food Safety FSSC requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

  • 10 years of applied engineering experience OR 7 years applied engineering experience and an advanced degree in engineering

  • 5 years manufacturing experience OR 3 years manufacturing experience with an advanced engineering degree

  • Chemical processing experience, heat transfer and mass transfer operations knowledge

  • Knowledge and programming experience with PLC's

  • Leading projects valued at $500,000

  • Financial experience including IRR and NPV calculations.

  • Process improvement experience in a manufacturing facility

  • Microsoft Office, CMMS, CAD, Visio, and general knowledge of computer hardware configurations

Preferred Requirements

  • Hot Melt manufacturing experience

  • Knowledge of maintenance programs and experience with either Total Productive Maintenance or Predictive Maintenance practices.

  • Experience in general plant safety/safety programs and knowledge/practice of PSM, OSHA, Confined Space Entry, Lockout/Tag Out, and Hot Work permit requirements

  • Project Management experience with projects exceeding $1,000,000

  • Experience in basic statistical process control, design of experiments and ISO/QS quality systems.

  • SAP system knowledge

  • Leadership experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $110,000 - $130,000.
