Job Summary:
The Compensation Analyst plays a pivotal role in ensuring equitable and competitive compensation practices across all levels of the organization. Leveraging their expertise in compensation analysis and mark research, they will collaborate with HR and Halff leadership to develop and implement effective compensation strategies that attract, retain, and motivate top talent.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, designs, and administers employer compensation programs, including base pay, long and short-term incentives, spot bonuses, and other forms of variable pay that align with company objectives for recruiting, retention, and employee engagement.
  • Designs and communicates pay structures, grades, compensation budgets, and guidelines.
  • Collaborates with HR Business partners in advising hiring managers on making effective pay decisions that support employee engagement and comply with compensation policy and budgetary guidelines.
  • Develops, evaluates and maintains job descriptions and job architecture, ensuring accuracy and consistency in job classifications and compensation structures.
  • Conducts comprehensive analyses of internal and external compensation data to ensure alignment with organizational goals and industry standards.
  • Evaluates job roles and responsibilities to determine appropriate salary ranges, taking into account factors such as experience, education, and market demand.
  • Participates in compensation surveys, conducts research and analysis on market competitiveness, pay equity, and compensation trends.
  • Assists in the design and implementation of compensation policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Analyzes and interprets compensation-related data to generate insights in support of decision-making processes.
  • Prepares reports and presentations for senior leadership, summarizing findings and proposing actionable recommendations.
  • Stays abreast of legal and regulatory changes impacting compensation practices, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • In-depth knowledge of compensation principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in conducting job evaluations and salary benchmarking exercises.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and compensation management software is preferred.
  • Understanding of relevant employment laws and regulation related to compensation, such as FLSA and EEOC guidelines.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in designing and implementing effective compensation strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Education, Experience and Licensure:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in Compensation work or a related field, preferably within the engineering or consulting industry.
  • Certification(s) such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) is desired.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • May need to travel to various office locations.
  • Travel up to 5%.
