Credit Systems Manager

Job Description

Credit Systems Manager will report to the Director of Credit Risk and is responsible for hands-on oversight of the Bank's commercial loan underwriting applications, including understanding business requirements, ensuring requirements are implemented and further developed, system functionality is performing to specifications, all functionality of system is fully implemented, and on-going training and education is provided. This position serves as the primary liaison between Lending, Credit Administration, and Credit Risk Management to provide a technical escalation path for issues identified related to the assigned applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the existing lending and credit lifecycle including processes, systems, and upstream and downstream dependencies and impacts.
  • Understands needs and identifies areas to improve efficiency. Works closely with Lending, Loan Operations, Credit Underwriting, Risk functions, and other stakeholders to provide application solutions to support operational excellence.
  • Work with Architects, Developers, Engineers and others across Technology and Security to ensure that technical requirements are covered and APIs are designed to accurately manage data movement between the necessary applications and the Institution's enterprise data warehouse.
  • Responsible for overall solution design of the CreditLens application and ensure its integration with current processes and systems while maximizing its functionality.
  • Responsible for working with Credit Underwriting and Analysis to standardize and document processes and procedures for using CreditLens.
  • Serves as the data owner for CreditLens by implementing data quality and accuracy controls and ensuring that the data is accessible for back-end analytics.
  • Serves as the primary contact and subject matter expert for the front-end use of CreditLens and is a valuable resource for the Lending and Credit groups.
  • Facilitate recurring meetings with users, developers, system design architects, system integrators and vendors for training, best practices, recommendations, and pitfalls.
  • Creation of performance monitoring metrics and reporting for the Credit Origination and Underwriting process.
  • Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations
  • Ability to effectively understand end-to-end processes and diagnose efficiency opportunities
  • Ability to develop formalized procedures and process/data workflows
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients and other employees in the organization
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Ability to effectively present information to managers and top management
  • Ability to promote the benefits of system adoption and importance of data integrity

Education and/or Experience

  • BS/BA degree and
  • Minimum 8+ years of applicable experience managing credit underwriting and origination systems and processes and/or code scripting (e.g., SQL, R, Python, C#)
  • Experience with Credit Underwriting Application, Moody's Analytics CreditLens preferred
  • Experience working with or coordinating data movement between applications via APIs
  • Analytics/Reporting expertise that includes designing reports, scorecards and dashboards required

  • MS Office programs

  • SQL
  • C#, preferred
  • PowerBI
  • Loan platform systems that perform origination and core processing
