The Opportunity

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Field Service EngineerAssociate to join our Field Service team in Dallas, TX! The goal of this program is for the Associate to successfully complete all phases of the required training on Ortho equipment, and it will serve as a predecessor to the Field Engineer role. The training for the Field Engineer Associate program will take place in three parts:

Phase 1. The first phase will include training on how to service our equipment at our training facilities.

Phase 2. The second phase will include working with an experienced Field Engineer to learn the day to day responsibilities of being in Field Service.

Phase 3. The third phase will allow the Associate to demonstrate that he/she can successfully perform duties on his/her own.

All training will require the Associate to go to our Company training facilities, and all training expenses will be paid by Ortho. This is a remote, work from home position that offers a company car, gas card, cell phone and laptop, and all vehicle maintenance will also be covered by Ortho.This position is located in Dallas, TX.

The Responsibilities
  • Learn the profession of installing, operating, maintaining, repairing and modifying electromechanical equipment in a customer environment.

  • Learn how to troubleshoot technical problems and systems issues to determine the best technical solution in accordance with our product specifications and our customers' needs of reporting their patient results with Ortho instruments.

  • Go through the required training to perform these duties, as well as travel with other experienced field personnel, and, at times, be asked to perform duties on his/her own as experience level increases.

  • This position requires the individual to perform these functions in the hospital/clinical laboratory environment.

The Individual

Candidates should be aware that the Company currently requires customer-facing workers to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and credentialed.   • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or 3+ years of a related military experience required.

  • A team player that is self-motivated & interacts appropriately with peers.

  • A customer-focused mindset to help assist Ortho in meeting Company goals.

  • The ability to organize and express ideas, both verbal and written, in individual or group situations; working effectively is required.

  • Must possess appropriate technical ability and be able to utilize that knowledge to be trained with an effective level of competency to perform tasks in electro-mechanical, chemistry, computer and other related disciplines.

  • Ability to effectively manage assigned workload within allotted time constraints.

  • Ability to travel to meet both training needs as well as business demands. This travel can be within region or outside and may require overnight stays.

  • This candidate must have the ability to lift 75 lbs.

  • A valid driver's license is required at all times.

  • Extended hours may be required.

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $45,000 to $82,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
