- Master Scheduler provides list of Work Orders based on priority of needs to meet customer orders.
- Kitting Lead or designated associate creates Pick Lists for Work Orders.
- Kitting Forklift Operator pulls and delivers materials on the Pick Lists to Kitting Lines KIT-01, 02, 03 or 04.
- Kitting Lead prints Pick Lists with quantities needed for the Work Order.
- Orders that are 20 materials or more are Direct to Line.
- Kitter confirms Part Number on Pallet ID matches Part Number needed.
- Kitter counts, splits, combines pallets of materials.
- If pallet is banded (original banding from supplier) no need to count.
- If partial pallet was assigned to Work Order, Kitter must count to confirm quantity.
- As each pallet is physically counted and combined the Kitter will bring the Pallet ID tags to the Kitting Lead to be systemically split.
- After the tags are systematically split or combined the Kitting Lead will return the tags to the Kitter.
- Kitter will place one tag on the material assigned to Work Order and one tag on the return pallet.
- Upon completion of a Kitted order either in full or partial.
- The Kitter will place a green cone on the last pallet if the Work Order is kitted in full.
- The Kitting Lead will then update WMS with "Kitting Complete".
- The Kitter will place a red cone and a placard (Control Document #0000000000) listing all the material shortages if the Work Order is partially kitted.
- The Kitting Lead will then update WMS with "Partial Kitting Complete".
