We are currently seeking a OEM Compressor Development / Application Engineer to join our dynamic team in Farmers Branch, TX (Dallas area) as part of the Component Solutions Engineering Team.

LG Electronics is looking to hire an OEM Compressor Development / Application Engineer for HVAC industries, especially someone with prior compressor development experience, as applied to Air conditioner and Refrigerator for both residential and commercial products. This position will perform project management, development guidance, and high volume compressor applications between LG R&D and OEM manufacturers.

What you will do

  • Always seeks for compressor application opportunities with OEM partners.
  • This position provides daily interactions with LG Sales, LG Quality, LG R&D and designated OEM partners.
  • Identifies or assists OEM customers in identifying and qualifying OEM opportunities.
  • Provides technical or process support to OEM partners during qualification and reliability activities for LG Compressor products.
  • Prepares or assists in preparing technical and other customer communication documents.
  • Utilizes specialized functional expertise as a sales engineer and individual project team leader, with a high degree of technical competence
  • Performs detailed engineering analysis to quantify OEM Compressor cost savings and benefits. Provides or reviews detailed mechanical and electrical drawings specific to each project.
  • Develops submittals including Performance Information, Component List, Mechanical and Process and Instrumentation Drawings, Vendor Component Information, & Project Milestone Information.
  • Participate in trade show and exhibitions in connection with LG's Compressor business.
  • Occasional International Travel to LG HQ in Korea.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related field as appropriate.
  • 8+ years of experience in Compressors manufacturer related with residential or commercial Air Conditioner or Heat Pump Products.
  • Member of ASHRAE, IDEA and function- specific licenses or certifications preferred.
  • Possess strong analytical capabilities and ability to manage tasks associated with development of projects.
  • Fully competent in analysis and assessment of mechanical and electronic Compressor systems.
  • Effectively leader in team settings.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and comfortable working in customer-facing situations.
  • Strong basic computer skills, including an understanding of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Project.
  • Ability to Travel approximately 30%.
  • Experience in rating large tonnage Commercial AC Solutions is preferred.

Base Pay Range: $95,000 - $135,000 Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan.

This base pay range is based on US national averages.
