The Spirit of the Position:

LAZ's continued growth has created an opportunity in the accounting department for a talented Accountant to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for budget analysis and oversight, review of monthly AP and AR, provide AR aging reports and support the team on other accounting related tasks. This position is in our Dallas, TX region.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze performance and significant variances in budget.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis as needed and requested by leadership both locally and by our Home Office.
  • Responsible for budgeting oversight including process and forecasts prepared on a location-by-location basis during the year.
  • Oversight of Accounts Payable including coding of locations, review and approval of purchase limits, oversight of outstanding payments and invoices.
  • Oversight of Accounts Receivable including open invoices, overdue balances, aging reports.
  • Oversight of regional compliance in coordination with the Home Office compliance team.
  • Direct support or all administrative duties during the establishment of new locations
  • Support significant new projects or initiatives being deployed within the region.
  • Perform all other related duties and/or projects assigned to meet the needs of the company.

Education:

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting

Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, be a self-starter, and effectively interface at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent computer skills, including high and proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Adobe, and Outlook).

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in General Accounting or Finance with application of GAAP, is a plus but not required.

Physical Demands:

  • Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 10 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
