Reporting to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, the Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for ideation, development, refinement and deployment of robust data sources departmental uses and line of business needs. The BI Analyst will engage in regular root level research on data availability, intake, as well as refinement necessary to process into an operational output. Outputs created must establish understanding and meaning to appropriate end users through a variety of reporting methods. The BI Analyst will work closely with operational and product lines of business to gather an understanding of their reporting and informational needs, interpreting and relaying through tools such as Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, to name a few. Operationally, the Business Intelligence Analyst will gain an understanding of the breadth of data utilized by the FP&A department to develop additional avenues and platforms of said data.

  • Identifies data anomalies, trends, or deviations and developing strategies for improvement
  • Design and develop reports and tools for management, committees and other reports as needed by senior executives, the board of directors, the finance and accounting teams, as well as line of business directors
  • Design and develop dashboards for monthly financial data, management KPIs, profitability segmentation
  • Liaise between the business project team, IT, other Bank departments and vendors on certain project assignments
  • Analyze Bank's internal systems and processes, identify efficiencies, and offer solutions to assist in product development and to promote operational excellence
  • Participate in the design and enhancement of the Bank's customer relationship management software, including data specifications, report layouts, functional acceptance testing and system accuracy
  • Identify and use appropriate analytic techniques to support quantitative and qualitative research findings and recommendations
  • Responsible for working on big data/analytics projects that gather and integrate large volumes of data, performs analysis, interprets results and develops actionable insights and recommendations for use across the company
  • Support preparation of financial and strategic plans
  • Support additional Accounting and Finance resource capacity
  • Identifies and develops automation opportunities within and outside resource

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance/business, statistics, computer science or related field is required; Preferred Advanced Degree and/or certifications - MBA, CFT, FRM, CMA
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in either preparing and maintaining financial models or financial datasets
  • Knowledge of and experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, etc.
  • Experience in database management or programming for data analysis
  • Preferred operational knowledge of Accounting/GAAP
  • Previous experience in financial industry preferred

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word; basic keyboarding skills and calculator skills; must be able to do complex math and carry out written instructions
  • Travel to a variety of locations to perform work and/or attend meetings as required
  • Work occasionally requires more than 40 hour of work per week to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Lifting in an office setting may required up to 30 lbs.
