Job Description

BASE SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday 5 AM - 3:15 PM not including overtime.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Paint Specialist works as part of a team performing various tasks of paint application, inspecting, staging and the curing process.

WWS - MONETT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Pass pre-employment tests
  • Pass certification process, written test, and hands-on demonstration (Painters)
  • Work in a team environment with the ability to communicate in a concise, polite, and respectful manner

POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Prepare and apply paint to material
  • Apply proper amount of coating
  • Perform all necessary inspections and retain quality logs
  • Ensure proper material correctly staged and counted before pre-treat process
  • Ensure all material is correctly counted, entered, tagged, and palletized after the painting process is complete.
  • Control oven temperature
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data entry
  • Proficient in the AS400 (iSeries) system and options
  • Provide assistance to Paint Techs when needed
  • Comply with safety, quality, and productivity requirements and procedures
  • Regular/dependable attendance required
  • Flexibility of work hours including overtime
  • Maintain complex equipment settings - air pressures, oven temperature, fluid pressure, spray patterns, and electrostatics
  • Use of hand tools and machinery is required to maintain equipment
  • Must be able to work well with little or no supervision
  • Participates in WWS's Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team's performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements

  • Ability to rotate to other positions as needed

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; 0-1 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock, vibration, and seasonal high/low temperatures and humidity. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring hearing protection. Must be willing and able to comply with all plant safety regulations including wearing appropriate PPE when on the production floor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to stand, reach, bend, talk, hear and move about the facility. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and constantly lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds. The employee must occasionally push up to 72 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Tools and Equipment Used

PPE (Safety glasses, Protective gloves, Safety Shoes, Single Use Ear Plugs), metal rack, anti-fatigue mat, CNC machine, step stool, chop saw.
