Job Description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, is seeking a dynamic physician educator to join the Gynecology Division.

Academic rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Candidates must have a medical degree; completed an accredited residency in obstetrics and gynecology; and have attained or be eligible for Texas medical licensure and certification by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Completion of an AAGL approved Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, or equivalent experience, is preferred. Additionally, special interest and expertise in chronic pelvic pain, vulvar disorders, and/or perimenopausal care will be given special consideration. A track record of strong clinical and surgical competence is required.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with strong leadership and communication skills. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated excellence in clinical care, an academic track record performing or participating in scholarly activity, and a commitment to the education and development of colleagues and trainees. The successful candidate will join a dynamic division of Gynecologists in an ambulatory University-based practice setting. The principle clinical assignment will be to provide Gynecologic clinical care in the Lowe Foundation Center for Women's Preventative Health Care which provides the majority of benign gynecologic services in the University-practice and at William P. Clement's University Hospital. The Women's Center sees a high volume of complex gynecologic patients and consists of 5 full time faculty and 2 nurse practitioners with multi-disciplinary programs in endometriosis, fibroid care, and pelvic pain.
