TITLE
Coordinator, Business Internships

JOB SUMMARY
The Coordinator of Business Internships for the College of Business is responsible for advising students on available internship opportunities and helping them acquire internships appropriate to their goals. The position is also responsible for identifying internship and experiential learning opportunities and building relationships with companies that offer these opportunities. Work is performed under minimal supervision and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and attainment of organizational goals. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Associate Dean, College of Business
Supervises: May supervise Volunteers, Graduate Assistants, and Student Assistants

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:
In collaboration with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Business:
* Works with outside agencies to establish and maintain internship and experiential learning opportunities.
* Identifies internship employers, solicits their involvement in our internship program, and acquires their internship materials for our internship files.
* Assures that the quality of the internship/experiential learning opportunity meets the educational learning objectives.
* Communicates internship/experiential learning opportunities to students, faculty and advisors.
* Develops internship information in digital and print formats as appropriate.
* Documents and maintains data on internships/ experiential learning opportunities as required for AACSB reports.
* Assists in career events.
* Works closely with Career Connections and the Director, Internships & Experiential Learning to identify and promote internship opportunities for COB students.
* Advises students on available internship opportunities and helps them acquire internships appropriate to their goals, through set drop-in advising hours and by individual appointment.
* Reviews resumes and cover letters, making recommendations for improvement.
* Familiar with Handshake, a system used at TWU for internship and job postings; helps students and companies navigate Handshake.
* Conduct quarterly workshops (in-person and virtual) on how to select an internship.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
* Performs other duties as requested.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE
At least two years' experience in recruitment, marketing, customer service or a related area.

REQUIREMENT
Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - The following are essential:
* Knowledge of department management.
* Working knowledge of accreditation process and ability to respond to accreditation body.
* Ability to organize and multi-task.
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
* Ability to plan and allocate workload accordingly.
* Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment, including related university software and email.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee may be required to travel. The employee is required to work occasional evenings and weekends.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
