Summary:

In this role, you will be in a client facing position, which will be working directly with a California based client and will support National Claims Shared Services area. You will oversee all sourcing/procurement activities for assigned categories within Health Plan Operations ((EX: Provider Data Systems / Provider Data Management, Medicare / Medicaid, Community Health, etc.). As a Service Line Director, you develop and implement a category management strategy for these assigned categories. You identify, cultivate, and manage supplier relationships. You skillfully negotiate contracts and establish long-term procurement agreements. Create and propose metrics to analyze supplier total cost.

You support the assessment and development of spend management opportunities across clients' scope of work. This includes working with the Sourcing Team and individual stakeholder areas to analyze spend, develop cost savings levers (supply, demand and TCO management), stand-up initiatives and support execution of the cost savings programs.


Responsibilities:

  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of the markets, suppliers, and stakeholder needs to develop category/spend strategies for all key categories.
  • Drive clear and well-informed decisions based on a comprehensive multi-year strategy.
  • Take complete ownership of delivering business needs for the categories under management, ensuring end-to-end delivery.
  • Stay updated on external and internal factors that may impact the larger organization, such as Healthcare Reform and macroeconomic issues.
  • Interact with senior leadership to review and drive decisions, fostering collaboration and alignment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal clients and suppliers, fostering strong and collaborative partnerships.
  • Identify and understand the key initiatives, short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals of internal clients.
  • Work closely with suppliers to identify and pursue opportunities for improved quality and delivery performance.
  • Ensure alignment of initiatives and strategies with client expectations, driving value, innovation, service/supply resiliency, quality of care, and governance.
  • Lead the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and/or supplier negotiations, facilitating contracting to deliver strategic value.
  • Partner with Legal to lead contract negotiations.
  • Develop and execute RFPs to drive the strategic sourcing process.
  • Leverage analytics and insights to ensure data-driven decisions.
  • Analyze category spend to understand price drivers and trends.
  • Apply cost and supply market analytics to create category strategies.
  • Adopt a digital mindset to embrace new technologies in the source-to-pay space.
  • Contribute to KP's Sustainability and Environmental goals and serves as an advocate to further advance results in Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP).

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred; advanced degree desired.
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in category management, materials management, services contracting, or finance preferred.
  • Healthcare (Claims) orFinancial Servicesexperience preferred.
  • Professional certification such as C.P.M. or APICS preferred.
  • Experience in employing strategic souring methodology.
  • Experience in large contract negotiations.
  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

$102,400.00 - $152,200.00
