Overview
Join us for an exciting summer adventure at Aggie Rec Camp, a dynamic 10-session program running from the first week of June to the second week of August (excluding Juneteenth, July 4th, and Pioneer Day). As a counselor, you'll play a pivotal role in creating a safe and enjoyable environment for up to 50 campers each day. From engaging indoor activities to thrilling outdoor adventures and virtual offerings, you'll lead a variety of experiences that promise fun and learning.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise up to 50 campers daily, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
  • Organize and facilitate indoor and outdoor activities, including arts and crafts, games, and field trips.
  • Contribute to virtual programming by leading activities such as scavenger hunts and interactive sessions.
  • Collaborate with fellow counselors and camp staff to plan and execute engaging experiences.
  • Assist with camp preparation tasks and scheduling, as needed.

Schedule and Compensation:
  • Monday to Friday schedule, with flexible hours totaling 23-28 per week, including camp prep work and time off.
  • Competitive compensation package.

Qualifications:
  • Energetic, responsible, and passionate about working with children.
  • Previous experience in camp counseling, childcare, or related fields preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).

Responsibilities
  • Engage campers in interactive and enriching activities, including hands-on projects, exciting field trips, and supervised swimming sessions at USU Campus Recreation Facilities and in the Logan Community, as well as through virtual platforms.
  • Maintain a vigilant presence to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all campers, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of camp supplies, promptly reporting any needs for replenishment or additional purchases to the Camp Director and Program Coordinator.
  • Foster positive interactions with parents/guardians during drop-off and pick-up times, providing updates and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
  • Prioritize the well-being of participants by ensuring they stay properly hydrated, monitoring playing areas for hazards, and promptly addressing any safety concerns.
  • Adhere strictly to all Campus Recreation facility policies and procedures, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Complete necessary paperwork as required, maintaining accurate and detailed daily logs for End of Day Reports to track camp activities and participant engagement.


Qualifications
  • Availability Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm is essential.
  • Commitment to attending mandatory training sessions scheduled for early May.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain the following certifications within 30 days of hire:
    • American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED
    • Blood Borne Pathogens
    • Clery Act Training
    • Sexual Assault Training
  • Opportunity for internship and practicum hours to fulfill academic credit requirements.
