Family Description

Pre-Sales (PS) Job Family works closely with sales team to work out offers for products, services, and solutions. Covers the identification of new business opportunities and draws on technical expertise. Jobs in this Job Family can influence and impact customer's buying decision and are accountable for achieving sales results. They work with external clients to understand their specific business needs and provide customised support. PS also contains the presentation and discussion of possible products, services, and solutions with internal (multi-product) and external customers. Note: population would be under the sales incentive plan.

Subfamily Description

Sales Development & Solutioning (SDS) comprises the provision of pre-sales support / expertise to sales team in their sales efforts. Covers a specialised knowledge of technical products, services, or solutions in a single or suite of offerings. Contains delivery of in-depth presentations and demonstrations to clients and sales representatives as well as the identification of new businesses focusing on future technologies and the setting of strategies to develop new business opportunities. Comprises driving of Nokia's solutions across business groups as well as positioning and selling of Nokia's solutions to customers in coordination with sales and / or presales teams through a consultative selling approach. Covers engagement with external clients in defining and formulating their business strategies. Comprises understanding of customer's business model and long term investment planning in order to provide customised support.



Managed Security (MSS) - Managed telecom cyber security services

MSS is one of the growth drivers for CCS, and to fuel that growth in North America (NAM), its pre-sales organization is seeking an experienced Managed Security Services Consultant. The MSS Consultant will be the regional bridge between the MSS business line and our customers, partnering directly with the CCS account manager to discover, qualify, and quarterback the solutioning and strategy, to secure new contracts for Nokia in both the CSP and Enterprise sectors.

The successful candidate will be the MSS authority in NAM and therefore is expected to carry instant credibility with our customers' security organizations including at the CxO levels

. Accountable for developing MSS opportunities and long term security transformation plans in key strategic deals, that deliver differentiated value add to our customers and profitable business to Nokia

  • Partner with CNS Security Applications business line to enable the success of Nokia cyber security technology sales.
  • Build out the NAM MSS opportunity pipeline
  • Proactive discovery of the customer's network and operations security domain, including related tooling and automation landscape while uncovering underlying issues and opportunities that can be addressed.
  • Intimate understanding of security technologies
  • Accountable to develop domain specific cases and win strategies for the region's key top deals.
  • Lead MSS specific customer negotiations
  • Influences functional and business strategies.
  • Evangelize the MSS value both internally as externally including trade shows/conferences
  • Proactively influence internal MSS business line strategies around security operations, tooling and automation as well as roadmaps, aimed at addressing the business opportunities within the region.
  • Drive business thought leadership and shaping the NAM sales strategy around MSS
  • Responsible for strategic alignment and involvement of all involved parties in key deals
  • Develop new businesses beyond existing solutions to create sustainable competitive advantage
  • Build Tiger Teams and Rapid Intervention Teams as needed to ensure best support of the region's key cases
  • Perodic travel for customer meetings
  • Excellent communication skills

Knowledge & Experience

Management Experience / Mastery of a specific professional discipline combining deep knowledge of theory and practice within a function. Expert in more than one area, broad perspective. Typically requires 7-10 years extensive relevant experience and/or a graduate / postgraduate equivalent degree.
