Job Summary | Reporting to the director, the assistant director will plan, organize and coordinate services, activities, and programs related to military-affiliated students. The assistant director will advise student veterans and connect them to campus and community resources. The position requires knowledge of military culture, transitioning from the military to civilian and/or college environment, and the challenges of military-affiliated students. The position chairs the Veteran Advisory Council. The position functions as the Responsible University Officer (RUO) for student organizations associated with the Military and Veteran Center. Minimum Education and Experience | Bachelor's degree; Three years' experience working within the U.S. military; One year of experience working higher education setting in an advisory, administrative, program coordination, recruiting or educational capacity; Knowledge of military culture, transitioning from the military to a civilian and/or college environment and the challenges of military-affiliated students. |

Remote Notice: After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval. Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend events.
