Financial Analyst

PFS, a division of GXO, is seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical Financial Analyst to join our finance team. The position will play a crucial role in analyzing financial data, providing insights, and supporting strategic decision-making within our transportation division. The ideal candidate will have a natural curiosity, strong financial modeling skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities

*Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):Conduct comprehensive financial analysis for the transportation division, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

*Cost Management:Monitor and analyze costs associated with transportation operations, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide recommendations for optimization.

*Performance Metrics:Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for the transportation department, tracking financial performance against targets.

*Profitability Analysis:Assess the profitability of transportation routes, services, and initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance financial outcomes.

*Data Interpretation:Interpret complex financial data related to transportation activities and present findings to senior management in a clear and concise manner.

*Financial Modeling:Build financial models to support decision-making processes, including investment analysis, pricing strategies, and scenario planning.

*Ad-Hoc Reporting:Generate ad-hoc reports as needed, providing timely and accurate financial information to support various business initiatives.

*Collaboration:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and supply chain, to understand business dynamics and contribute to overall financial success.

*Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance function and actively contribute to enhancing overall efficiency.

Qualifications

*Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.

*2-5 years' experience, Required

*Proven experience as a Financial Analyst, with a focus on transportation or logistics, Required

*Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

*Excellent proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.

*Knowledge of transportation industry dynamics, market trends, and regulatory requirements.

Personal Characteristics

*Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.

*Effective communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

*Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work.

*Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when needed.

*Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
