The Position

Do you have a passion for supply chain management and continuous process improvement? We are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Specialist to join our team and contribute to our mission of supplying research materials for cutting-edge projects. In this role, you will work closely with various departments and external partners to create and manage an inventory plan that ensures material supply meets research needs. As a leader, you will also be responsible for leading teams and cross-functional continuous improvement/technology projects.

Some of the key responsibilities and expectations of this role include:

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Managing and supporting internal teams and 3rd party vendors
  • Leading cross-functional improvement projects
  • Fostering partnerships with stakeholders
  • Assisting in supplier contract negotiations
  • Promoting teamwork and cooperation

Purchasing & Warehouse Operations

  • Utilizing procurement and inventory management systems
  • Studying market trends and pricing
  • Tracking order status and reconciling invoices
  • Managing warehouse inventory and performing cycle counts
  • Maintaining warehouse cleanliness and safety standards

Technical & Systems Analytics

  • Use supply chain management methodology to forecast and procure materials
  • Run reports to identify underperforming areas and suggest improvements
  • Serve as an inventory management system superuser/trainer and perform site-related project activities

Quality and Safety

  • Maximizing production output while ensuring safety and quality levels
  • Meeting compliance requirements
  • Collaborating with suppliers to address quality issues

Requirements for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a biotech-related field (preferred)
  • At least 5 years of experience (or 3 years with a Master's Degree or relevant certification)
  • Ability to work autonomously and cope with multiple priorities
  • Effective presentation and communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Google Suite and inventory management systems

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $86,900 - $161,500. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
