Senior Financial Analyst Job Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving financial strategy and decision-making processes. This position involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing strategic insights to support business growth. The Senior Financial Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Senior Financial Analyst Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards.
  • Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools.
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Assist in the development of long-term financial forecasts.
  • Build and maintain financial models to simulate various business scenarios.
  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed projects and initiatives.
  • Implement cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend improvements.
  • Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to understand project financials.
  • Analyze key components of revenue recognition for reasonableness.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to non-finance departments.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Senior Financial Analyst Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • In-depth knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis.
  • Ability to spot trends and anomalies in financial data.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
Senior Financial Analyst Education, Experience and Licensure: (MQs)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or a related field. Master's Degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 4 - 10 years of experience in Financial Analysis, Strategic Planning, Forecasting and Revenue Reporting.
  • CFA and/or CPA designation is a plus.
Senior Financial Analyst Physical Requirements: (MQs)
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to travel to various offices and sites.
