Wieland is hiring a Plate Saw Operator. The Plate Saw Operator will be responsible for machine operation and product quality while also assisting with overall warehouse operations as needed. This role is located in Texas City, TX and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $19 per hour

Schedule: First shift

Responsibilities

Plate Saw Operator Responsibilities:

    Create and maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment
  • Responsible for the set-up, process, and maintenance of Plate Saws
  • Saw cut plate into finished product at varying tolerances
  • Operate machinery in a safe manner to ensure quality product
  • Inspect material before and after operation for imperfections
  • Load and unload product from the machinery for processing
  • Assemble, rebuild, setup, maintain, and operate equipment
    • Forklifts, hand tools, etc.
  • Inspect inventory and product orders for accuracy
  • Report product discrepancies to management
  • Actively communicate with teammates
  • Operate forklifts to move material
  • Other Operations tasks as assigned

Plate Saw Operator Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 4 years of machining experience (preferred)
  • Mechanical/maintenance skills a plus
  • Understanding of band saw controls (preferred)
  • Understanding of manufacturing industries
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail (critical skill)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers and management
  • Ability to work as part of a team and offer assistance to teammates when necessary
  • Ability to work shift work and occasional Saturday hours as required by the position
  • Ability to work in warehouse environment with varying temperatures
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to read a tape measure and calipers (critical skill)
